This Paul McGill guitar was commissioned by Darcy Cotten of Cotten Music Centre for her personal collection. She is an aspiring player under the tuition of John Johns of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.

Darcy asked if we could make the machine heads with a Lotus flower theme. After obtaining several images of lotus flowers and creating line art designs, we decided upon the nicest design that would translate to an engraved pattern. Darcy also sent an image of some ear rings of hers that were shaped like lotus leaves. We used this leaf shape for the end profiles of the tuner side-plates as you can see in the various images.

The guitar has a Brazilian rosewood back and sides and old growth European spruce top and is called "Jea".
