Lacôte Style Tuner

And now: there is Another Way !

We cannot claim this to be an entirely new idea, in fact the concept dates back about a hundred and sixty years to the very early days of guitar machine heads and the instruments of Renè François Lacôte.

String Rollers

Depending on the way the tuners are fitted, depends on the type of string roller you require.  If you are fitting the tuner in the traditional manner, then you can use either the standard string roller with or without the extra bearing bushes.  If you are mounting the tuner in the new way, you will require the extra bearing bushes to be fitted as standard.

About Lacôte Tuners

Rodgers Lacôte's style tuners have been completely re-designed from the old style tuners but still employ the same principle of operation.

Unlike other styles of machine heads, these sets attach to the underside of the guitar headstock with the mechanism enclosed within the headstock away from damage and sight.

All are for mounting on ‘slotted head guitars’ but the principle allows for a far greater scope of headstock design.  Single gear units mounted in this fashion can allow for slotted head guitars to have curved headstocks as is usual on most ‘solid head guitars’.

As can be seen from the pictures, the worm shafts to which buttons attach, projects through the base-plate downwards, leaving the side of the headstock clean & uncluttered.  This design requires a little more work in the design and manufacture of the headstock but as you can see, the result far outweighs the effort.

Side-plates

  • Plain Edge
  • Decorative edge
  • Multi-stringers
  • Singles

Rodgers Lacôtes Style Tuners can have either 'plain edge' or ''decorative edge' side-plates.

They can be made with more than the standard 6 strings (Multi-stringers), or as single gear units

These tuners are supplied in Brass.
