The ‘Baker Style ’ model of tuner is based on tuners that were originally made by Baker. The two reproduction models we have here, illustrate the style of engraving used on these early tuners.

Buttons

Buttons of four different patterns and in a range of materials can be fitted.
These machine heads are fitted as standard with oval pattern real light or dark Mother-of-Pearl buttons.
As an option, 'oval' or 'kidney' pattern buttons of synthetic ivory or polished hardwoods can also be fitted. Traditional pattern buttons are supplied in synthetic ivory only. Tulip or Mitre pattern buttons in Mother-of-pearl are fitted where the String Roller spacing is too small for normal sized buttons.

Dimensions
The standard side-plate dimensions are shown on the drawings linked to below.
Specials & Reproductions
We can also work to a customer's drawing to produce plates with custom dimensions. This is useful where tuners are being replaced.
Side-plate Materials
- Brass
- Nickel Silver
- Sterling Silver
The standard material for the side-plates used on these Tuners is brass and as an option, this can also be Nickel Silver. However, for that extra-special instrument, hallmarked solid Sterling Silver side-plates and silver bearing brackets can also be supplied.
Brass and Nickel silver side-plates are finished with a fine satin sheen to the plate surface and highly polished ends and chamfered edges.The Sterling Silver sets are finished with a high lustre gloss finish all over.
