The 'Rodgers Style Tuners' have a huge variety of options available for personalisation. They are all produced to the 'open gearing' design and can be made to be used on both classical and steel string guitars.

Specials & Reproductions

We can also work to a customer's drawing to produce plates with custom dimensions. This is useful where tuners are being replaced.

We are also able to produce custom engraved designs and/or end profiles. Often a Luthier will have the same end profiles on the tuners as on the headstock of the guitar, uniquely pairing the tuner and guitar together.

Where reproduction models are concerned, we can reproduce the Rodgers set to be a full replica of the original. Please see the Reproduction page for more information

 

Buttons

Buttons of four different patterns and in a range of materials can be fitted.

The machine heads are fitted as standard with oval pattern real light or dark Mother-of-Pearl buttons.

As an option, 'oval' or 'kidney' pattern buttons of synthetic ivory or polished hardwoods can also be fitted. Traditional pattern buttons are supplied in synthetic ivory only. Tulip or Mitre pattern buttons in Mother-of-pearl are fitted where the String Roller spacing is too small for normal sized buttons.

Side-plate Materials

• Brass
• Nickel Silver
• Sterling Silver

The standard material for the side-plates used on Rodgers Tuners is brass and as an option, this can also be Nickel Silver. However, for that extra-special instrument, hallmarked solid Sterling Silver side-plates and silver bearing brackets can also be supplied.

Brass and Nickel silver side-plates are finished with a fine satin sheen to the plate surface and highly polished ends and chamfered edges. This is especially effective on the Decorative edge plates where the polished edge scallops contrast to the satin plate surface.

The Sterling Silver sets are finished with a high lustre gloss finish all over.

Rodgers Style Tuners can have either 'plain edge' side-plates (as illustrated in the photo below), or ''decorative edge' side-plates (as illustrated in the photo above).

We also make tuners for guitars with more than the standard 6 strings (Multi-stringers), for example 7, 8, 10 and 12 stringers. Any combination of mechanisms can be produced per side-plate offering limitless scope for headstock design.

In addition, 'singles' (single gear units) are a popular option for steel string guitars and 'multi-string specials'.

 

 

Engraving & Artwork

The Side-plates are engraved to a high quality in our own workshop and there is a huge variety of artistic designs to choose from. This range is being continually extended as new designs are created.
